The Beast Ken skill references a list of tricks in "Animals, Beasts and Creatures". Does that refer to the upcoming Bestiary, a separate product, or a section of the AE rulebook that I have been unable to find?

What are the current plans for introducing a selection of magic items to the game?

Phanch's Fell Gates of Hell says that the location of the sending must be primed with Skarkhonen's Greater Gates ritual. That ritual doesn't seem to be in the book. What is the description for it?

Will the Bestiary have stats for the different sorts of spirits described in the "Spirits and Animate Powers" section?

Thanks in advance for your help with this stuff.

Found another one.

Various parts of the "Business" skill reference or allude to rules for how businesses work. I can't find them in the book, and some of the secrets in the skill are hard to make heads or tails of without them. It appears that they were cut for space. If this is correct, can they be added to errata?

One of my prospective players wants to play a Trader, so having these rules for reference would be really handy.

Much obliged Monty! That would be quite a help.

Any thoughts on the issues raised in my first post?

Also, here's another: I am seeing many references to letter-graded critical hits, but I can't find what the letters mean. This one may well be in the book someplace, but I cannot find it. Can anyone help me out with that?

Anyway, I hope I am not being annoying with these questions. I am trying, yes, to get some unclear issues clarified and to hunt down some of the referenced but missing material. But my other goal is to get some discussion going on here! I worry that, with the radio silence on these boards and a few less than charitable reviews, you'll become discouraged and not finish with the Bestiary and other material to make the game truly "finished". Arduin Eternal is really inspired and has tons of promise. I think the reviews rightly pointed out editing, organization and layout shortcomings, but did not focus enough on the incredible depth of the system and the extreme breadth of the character options presented in the book. Keep up the good work!

So, that in mind, does anyone out there have more questions about the game that they'd like to post? Maybe we can point some of this stuff out to each other as well.

On the Weapons Tables on 396-399 they list the letter grade of weapons that give better than (or worse than) average critical damage. This is expressed as a bonus or penalty to the critical effect roll once a critical is acheived. See end of table at 399. Some armors negate the bonuses of certain weapons. See 400.

I have a question. The Warrior Profession Option - Armor Is A Second Skin at 203 states: "You reduce the penalty of armor to Move and Dodge by a factor by (sic) 50." Reducing by a factor of 50 is way too much. Reducing by 50% seems a tad weak. Is reducing by a factor of 5 correct? I know I can play it any way I like, but what was intended?

Does Armor Is Second Skin help the Maneuver penalty associated with armor like the Native Ability with Armor racial ability does?

Does the Maneuver penalty from armor affect your attack using a Weapon or other Maneuver sub-skill? Seems it does, but I want to be sure. This means that armor has some serious penalties asociated with it. I like that, because the benefits of having substantial DR from armor are huge.

This Bestiary has gone from "highly anticipated" to "potentially best RPG book ever" in my mind, thanks to your reply.

And many thanks for the gate ritual!

Why is there no Bard character sheet?
Just passing along a question from a player.

I found the FAQ for the original I-IX.
Is there a FAQ for AE?

Also, I'll look again but it seemed like the Chr. Sheets were missing a space for some of the racial traits etc. or am I missing something?

On secrets...
Forgivey ignorance but is there a specific definition to what a secret is?
Is there a glossary I haven't found? I found the indexes (and an awesome job of that btw!!) but there's around 150 pages 'secret' is found on...
I get that it's a higher skill but for some reason it's not sinking in (so many types or something)?

I think I found the info on secrets. I had not delved deeply into the skills section. Still, a glossary would help the learning curve enormously in my opinion.

Understood.
..a subset of skills essentially (bonuses and traits) related to their parent skills or occasionally as stand-alone racial traits), yep I can be slow at times.

I wish I could see the melter rounds in action. How it all comes together and intermeshes. I love the examples. I wish there were more!
A 5 minute (or so) tutorial video (example) on encounters (or even multi-part vids) to see the action, playability and explanation might go a long way as marketing tools on the site? Even demonstrating good role playing (as an active player skill bonuses option) would be nice!
Have y'all considered anything like this?
Obviously it would be best if scripted (to illustrate aspects you get a lot of questions on) but A/V seems to raise the learning curve exponentially IMHO and it would even give you a break from those repetitive ad nausium questions that most certainly get repeated in person?
Just a thought!
Also, I liked the playing cards and loved the nostalgic Hargrave monster cards included. Have y'all considered offering monster & treasure card sets for sale?
You you scale current artwork and basically copy/paste the proofs to a printer on card stock, voila? ;-)
Yes, I'll happily take credit instead of royaly checks!
;-D
